When To use Podiatry Padding?

  • In most cases padding would be used in management of conditions such as.
  • Ulcers – definitely want deflection
  • Plantar and dorsal corns, bursas and ulcers – again we want deflection
  • Digital corns – deflection and binding
  • Calluses – deflection and binding
  • Hallux valgus – deflective, but most often patient appreciates cushioning
  • Loss of plantar fatty fibro-tissue – definitely use cushioning
  • Callous – to reduce torsional stress
