Algeos has expanded its pressure-care portfolio through a new distribution partnership with Caversham®, making four specialist Class I medical devices available to healthcare professionals and care providers across the UK.
The range introduces additional options across seated, bed-based, and bariatric pressure care, and is suitable for use in hospitals, care homes, hospices, rehabilitation settings, community services, and homecare environments.
By combining Caversham’s specialist product development and manufacturing expertise with Algeos’ established distribution network and customer support, the partnership will make the range more accessible to healthcare teams throughout the UK.
Four specialist Class I medical devices
The initial Caversham® range available from Algeos comprises two seated pressure-relief cushions and two static foam mattresses. All four products are classified as Class I medical devices and provide non-powered support for users with high or very high pressure-care requirements.
The Aura Gel Cushion (https://www.algeos.com/aura-very-high-risk-gel-pressure-relief-cushion) combines a solid polyurethane gel surface with supportive CHMR foam to help redistribute pressure during prolonged sitting. Designed for users at high to very high risk of pressure ulcer development, it can be used with compatible chairs and wheelchairs across clinical and care environments.
The Élysée Visco-Foam Cushion (https://www.algeos.com/elysee-high-risk-visco-foam-pressure-relief-cushion) uses temperature-sensitive visco-elastic memory foam over a firm CMHR foam base to contour around the user and distribute weight more evenly. Its static, pump-free construction provides a practical seated support option for people with reduced mobility or those who spend extended periods sitting.
The Selene Static Foam Mattress (https://www.algeos.com/selene-high-risk-static-foam-pressure-relief-mattress) is manufactured using high-resilience castellated foam, which responds to the user’s weight and movement to support pressure redistribution. Its non-powered design provides consistent support without requiring a pump or electrical supply.
The Fortuna Bariatric Pressure Relief Mattress (https://www.algeos.com/fortuna-high-risk-static-foam-bariatric-pressure-relief-bed-mattress) provides a wider and more supportive surface for bariatric users. Its heavy-duty CMHR foam core is designed to provide stable support under higher loads up to 260kg/41 stone, while the 120cm width provides additional space for positioning and assisted care.
Each product is supplied with a waterproof, removable cover that supports routine cleaning and hygiene within healthcare and care environments.
Strengthening the wider Algeos pressure care range
The Caversham® partnership broadens the choice available through Algeos while complementing the specialist pressure care products already offered by the business.
Caversham’s reusable static cushions and mattresses sit alongside the established Levabo pressure care range (https://www.algeos.com/levabo-landing-ulcer-prevention), which includes single-patient-use inflatable products for heel offloading, positioning, and seated care, as well as the Turn All automated lateral repositioning system.
