Levabo Turn All Patient Turning Mattress - Bariatric Model
Automatic patient turning mattress assists clinicians and carers in the regular turning of immobile heavier patients.
Product Description
Levabo Turn All 3C Bariatric – Automated Lateral Patient Turning
An automated lateral turning mattress designed to support regular, gentle repositioning of primary immobile and bariatric patients when placed beneath an existing mattress on a profiling medical bed.
Best for: Primary immobile patients, bariatric users, and individuals requiring frequent repositioning in acute, community, or long-term care settings.
Not ideal for: Patients requiring constant upright positioning or beds without a removable mattress.
WARNING: For use on hospital-style profiling medical beds with a removable mattress only.
IMPORTANT: The user manual must be fully read before installation and operation. Incorrect setup may compromise safety or effectiveness.
What is it?
The Levabo Turn All 3C Bariatric is an Automatic Lateral Turning System (ALTS) designed to sit underneath an existing mattress on a profiling medical bed. It converts the bed into an automated lateral positioning surface rather than replacing the mattress.
Controlled air inflation gently tilts the patient from side to side at preset intervals, supporting routine repositioning without frequent manual turning.
Who is it for?
Intended for adult patients unable to reposition independently or requiring frequent turning due to clinical risk factors. Suitable for:
- Hospitals
- Care homes
- Hospices
- Community care environments
The 3C Bariatric version is specifically engineered for higher weight capacities while maintaining smooth, controlled movement.
Use timeline & device adoption
First use
Patients may notice a gentle lifting and turning sensation as the system inflates and deflates. Movement is controlled and gradual rather than abrupt.
Short-term use (first few days)
As turning cycles continue, many carers report reduced disruption during night-time repositioning and less reliance on manual handling.
Ongoing use (weeks)
With consistent use as part of a broader pressure care plan, regular redistribution of pressure becomes routine. Comfort and tolerance typically stabilise as patients adapt to automated lateral positioning.
What does it help with?
- Pressure injury risk – supports regular redistribution of pressure
- Existing pressure injuries – assists offloading as part of care planning
- Paraplegia and spinal cord injury – maintains routine repositioning
- Neurological conditions – supports limited voluntary movement
- Dementia and complex needs – consistent turning without repeated manual intervention
- Palliative and end-of-life care – gentle movement designed to minimise disturbance
How does it work?
The system consists of an air-filled lifting mattress, durable cover, and pump unit. Once positioned beneath the existing mattress, one side inflates at a time to create a controlled lateral tilt of up to 30 degrees.
A patented counter-support wedge on the opposite side improves stability, reduces sliding sensation, and helps minimise shear forces. Turning cycles can be set at 30, 60, or 90 minute intervals.
Problem to solution overview
| Common problem | How Turn All® helps |
|---|---|
| Difficulty maintaining repositioning schedules | Automates lateral turning at preset intervals |
| High manual handling demands | Reduces need for frequent physical turning |
| Sleep disruption | Gentle, quiet movement designed to be less intrusive |
| Risk of shear | Stabilising counter-support improves control |
| Bariatric pressure risk | Supports higher weights with head-to-toe consistency |
How to use
- Remove the existing mattress from the profiling bed.
- Place the Turn All lifting mattress directly onto the bed frame.
- Align correctly head to toe.
- Replace the existing mattress on top.
- Connect pump and power supply.
- Select turning cycle and duration.
- Monitor during initial use and adjust if required.
