Product Description
Renia Syntic Shoe Adhesive
Versatile Bonding for Uppers - MEK Free
Polyurethane Cement, a toluene and MEK-free adhesive designed for comprehensive shoe repair and production. This adhesive is versatile and suitable for various materials. Here’s a detailed look at its capabilities and usage instructions:
Materials Bonded
Ideal for bonding a wide range of materials used in shoe repair and production, including leather, rubber, EVA, thermoplastic rubber (TR), expanded rubber, PVC (Vinyl), felt, cork, transparent materials, Perbunan-N, nylon, and more.
Bonds these materials to each other and to various upper materials.
Instructions
Begin by grinding all materials and ensuring the removal of grinding dust and fibers.
Coat both sides of the materials with Renia – Syntic until a visible layer of cement is present. Apply a second coat if necessary for absorbent materials.
For TR (Thermoplastic Rubber), apply Renia-Rehagol and coat with Syntic after 15 minutes.
For PUR (Polyurethane), grind the material, press it with absorbent paper to remove water, and coat it with a thin layer of Renia-Syntic to reinforce soft polyurethane. Apply another layer on top of the dried first layer if needed.
Open Assembly Time
Varies by material (e.g. TR: 3-15 minutes, PVC: 10-45 minutes)
You can expedite drying with an infrared lamp (176°F: 3 minutes)
Pressure
Apply 15-60 psi of pressure depending on the material.
For softer materials or air cushion soles, reduce pressure to 15-25 psi. Exercise caution to avoid deforming materials during pressing, as it can damage the adhesive film.
Highlights
Renia-Syntic features fast crystallization and a strong initial bond, allowing you to handle bonded pieces within minutes.
It offers high heat resistance, making it suitable for tasks like trimming or buffering soles and heels.
Bonding strength continues to improve over the first two days.
The adhesive exhibits excellent plasticizer resistance as a one-component system, and adding 5-10% hardener further enhances its resistance to heat, oil, and other chemical influences.
Shelf-Life
Minimum 12 months at 68°F.
Thinner
Use RENIA Cleaner (or acetone) for cleaning equipment.
In summary, Polyurethane Cement (Renia-Syntic) is a versatile and safe adhesive for bonding a wide array of materials essential for shoe repair and production. Follow the provided instructions for optimal results in your bonding projects.
