Product Description

Renia has been producing adhesives for the shoe repair and leather industry for almost 100 years. Colle de Cologne is Renia’s all-purpose cement. A neoprene based adhesive that also bonds PVC and TR. Colle de Cologne was developed with all the different soling and leather correction and building materials in mind. Use with leather, rubber, PUR, TR, PVC, EVA. and cork. Toluene and MEK free.

Polychloroprene Cement for versatile shoe and material bonding. This adhesive is toluene and MEK-free, making it a safer choice for your projects. Here’s a breakdown of its capabilities and usage instructions:

Materials Bonded:

Suitable for bonding a wide range of materials, including leather, rubber, EVA, TR, felt, cork, fabrics, metal, and even plastified PVC (Vinyl).

For PVC to PVC or natural rubber bonding, mix the cement with 5-10% Hardener.

Instructions:

Prepare materials by cleaning or grinding.

Coat materials with Colle de Cologne until a visible layer of cement is present.

For certain materials like PE and PP, briefly touch with an open gas flame.

For TR (Thermoplastic Rubber), use Renia - Rehagol and coat with Colle de Cologne after 10-15 minutes.

For expanded PUR (Polyurethane), grind and press together with paper to remove moisture. Coat with Renia-Primer for PUR if it’s very soft polyurethane. Apply Colle de Cologne promptly.

Pot-Life:

4-6 hours if mixed with Hardener.

Open Assembly Time:

Varies by material (TR: 3-15 minutes, PVC: 10-45 minutes)

You can accelerate drying with an infrared lamp (176°F 3 minutes)

Pressure:

Apply 1-5 bars of pressure depending on the material.

The softer the material, the less pressure needed. Be cautious not to deform materials during pressing, as this can damage the adhesive film.

Flexible PVC or PUR can be pressed by hand or with a roller.

Highlights:

Colle de Cologne features rapid crystallization and high initial bonding strength, allowing for handling bonded pieces in minutes.

It offers strong heat resistance for trimming or buffering materials.

Bonding strength continues to improve over the first two days.

Adding 5-10% hardener significantly enhances resistance to heat, oil, and chemicals.

Shelf-Life:

Minimum 12 months at 68°F.

Thinner:

Use RENIA (thinner), not acetone, for cleaning equipment.

Colle de Cologne is a versatile and safe adhesive for bonding a wide array of materials, including those used in shoe repair and manufacturing. Follow the provided instructions for optimal results in your bonding projects.
