What it does

This hydrocolloid dressing uses a hydrophilic gel technology that absorbs wound exudate and forms a cohesive gel on contact, helping maintain a moist wound-healing environment.

Designed for partial and full-thickness wounds with exudate, it provides a balance between absorption and protection.

Key features

  • Hydrocolloid gel layer: Sodium CMC with adhesive polymers.
  • Breathable PU backing: Air permeable, water-resistant.
  • Occlusive protection: Helps block external contaminants.
  • Bordered adhesive: Improves security and wear time.
  • Supports autolytic debridement.
  • Gamma sterilised (Cobalt-60).

Applications

Chronic wounds: Pressure ulcers (Stage I–IV), leg ulcers (as clinically appropriate).

Acute wounds: Minor abrasions, lacerations, partial-thickness burns, donor sites.

Common clinical use: Surgical wounds, ulcers, burns.

Blisters and skin breakdown: Friction blisters, superficial skin breakdown, and areas prone to rubbing or pressure.

Post-procedure wound care: After minor dermatological or outpatient procedures where low to moderate exudate is present.

Moisture balance matters: used correctly, maceration can be minimised.

FAQs

Can I cut the dressing to size?

Yes — the dressing may be cut to size. Ensure an intact seal remains on healthy surrounding skin.

How often should I change it?

Change depends on exudate levels and clinical advice. Replace if saturated, lifting, leaking, or as directed by your care plan.

Why does the dressing look cloudy or swollen after application?

This can be normal. Hydrocolloid forms a gel as it absorbs wound fluid, which may change the appearance.

Is this dressing waterproof?

The PU backing helps resist water. Avoid prolonged soaking and check the edges after showering.

Can I use hydrocolloid dressings on infected wounds?

No — not unless a clinician specifically advises it. If you suspect infection (heat, redness, odour, pus, increasing pain), seek medical advice.

Is it suitable for people with diabetes?

People with diabetes often need clinician-led wound care. If you have diabetes or poor circulation, use under clinical guidance and monitor closely.

Does it hurt to remove?

Designed to be gentle, but peel slowly and support the skin to reduce trauma—especially on fragile skin.

How do I know when to change it?

Change when the dressing is saturated, lifting at the edges, leaking, or when instructed by your healthcare professional.
