Key Selling Points

  • Instant bond on contact: reduces working time and removes the need for clamps in many applications.
  • Strong, lasting adhesion: designed for reliable long-term bonding across a wide range of materials.
  • Flexible after curing: helps the bond withstand movement, vibration and everyday stress.
  • Heat-resistant performance: maintains bond integrity during demanding use and post-bond finishing processes.
  • Multi-material versatility: suitable for rubber, leather, foam, plastics, wood, textiles and more.
  • Toluene-free formulation: safer solvent profile while maintaining high bonding strength.

What It Does

This is a polychloroprene (neoprene) contact adhesive. Adhesive is applied to both surfaces, allowed to partially dry, then the two surfaces are pressed together.

When the prepared surfaces make contact, the adhesive creates an instant, permanent bond

After curing, the adhesive remains flexible, helping it perform under movement, vibration and stress.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is contact adhesive?

Contact adhesive is a rubber-based adhesive that bonds when adhesive-coated surfaces are pressed together after partial drying. It is designed to give a fast, strong bond without clamping in many applications.

Do I need clamps when using this adhesive?

No. This adhesive is designed to form an immediate bond on contact, so clamps are not normally required once the two prepared surfaces are firmly pressed together.

What materials can this adhesive bond?

It is suitable for use on rubber, leather, foam, plastics, wood, textiles and other similar materials used in repair, upholstery, manufacturing and craft applications.

How long should I leave it before bonding?

The adhesive typically dries in around 15 to 20 minutes before bonding, although the usage guidance states approximately 10 minutes depending on conditions and application. Maximum bond strength is reached after up to 24 hours.

Can this adhesive be used for shoe repair?

Yes. It is widely used in shoe repair and footwear manufacturing for bonding materials such as rubber and leather where a strong, flexible bond is needed.

Is the bond flexible after curing?

Yes. The adhesive remains flexible after curing, which helps it cope with movement, vibration and stress without becoming brittle.

Is it heat resistant?

Yes. It offers heat-resistant performance that helps maintain bond integrity during demanding use and post-bond finishing processes.

How can I remove the adhesive?

It can be removed using heat or suitable solvents such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Always test first on a small area to check compatibility with the bonded material.

Is this adhesive safe to use?

It is toluene-free, but it should still be used with good ventilation and appropriate protective measures. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and follow normal safe handling procedures.
