Algeos win Exporter of the Year at Business Awards

Algeos have been awarded Exporter of the Year 2012 at The Liverpool Post’s Regional Business Awards. Algeos received this prestigious award in front of an audience of 500 guests at a Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.

The award was presented to Max Sheridan and Trudy Hallett by Tom Cannon, Professor of Strategic Development at Liverpool University.  Mr Cannon said: “With a strong product and opportunities to diversify, this business has a clear USP. Moving into the International marketplace and with growing employee numbers this business was a clear winner in this category”.

On receiving the award on behalf Algeos , Max commented “The award nomination is important in that it acknowledges the hard work all of our staff have put into overseas trade and growing our International reach. This is an important acknowledgement of what we have achieved so far and we look forward to a bright future”.

The export category winning criteria was for firms to “demonstrate that over the past 12 months a substantial and sustained increase in export activity relative to their size. The judges were looking for evidence of overcoming barriers and the degree to which overseas trade has benefited this region’s economy”.

The awards ceremony was hosted by former BBC broadcaster Peter Sissons and the keynote speaker was former FA chief executive Brian Barwick.
