Algeos India CEO, Bhushan Hemade said the company plans to launch 100 clinics across the country in the next two years with each clinic calling for investment of Rs 30 lakh excluding real estate cost. The company has lunched clinics at seven locations in Mumbai.

Diaped will provide diagnostic services at about 25 per cent of the cost that a patient incurs in UK.

The company has plans to set up clinics in major cities across Maharashtra in the next 6 months followed by pan-India presence on a franchise basis, said Bhushan.

“According to WHO, more than 347 million people worldwide are affected by this chronic disorder. With global figures suggesting the amputation rate of as high as one limb every 30 seconds, foot care is of utmost importance in the highly affected countries,” Hugh Sheridan, UK Director, Algeos said.

According to the Ministry of Health, about 20 per cent of diabetics are admitted in Indian hospitals for foot problems, while as much as 50-70 per cent of all amputations performed are on diabetics.
