Algeos Girls Race for Charity

Jane, Nicola, Louise & Michelle

On a cold, wet and stormy night, four girls from the Algeos team in Liverpool subjected themselves to frizzy hair dos and ruined manicures all in the name of charity.

Jane, Louise, Michelle & Nicola took part in the annual Race for Life sponsored by Tescos, along with thousands of other women across the country with the aim of raising much needed funds for cancer research.

The girls raced through Lord Derby's Estate at Knowsley Hall, one of the 150 race locations all over the country. Sponsored by collegues, friends and family, the girls ran 5km in one of the stormiest summer evenings of the year, all finishing within 45 minutes.

An estimated 325,000 women were thought to take part in years event with the hope of raising over £2 million for charity. The girls raised over £600 for cancer research, an achievement they are all proud of. All four girls would like to thank everyone who donated sponsors to this worthy cause.
