Podiatry and orthotic provider Algeos appoints new CEO

A Algeo Ltd (Algeos), the UK-based global medical technology company and leading NHS supplier, announces the appointment of a new CEO, Jackie Fisher, who for the past 12 months has been the company's financial director.
Jackie Fisher came to Algeos in 2015 from Thyson Technology, where she was also financial director, and has held the post at a number of companies since originally training with Ernst & Young in Leeds and Sydney.
Based in Speke, Liverpool, Algeos is a manufacturer and global distributor within the podiatry, physiotherapy and O&P markets. It is the largest podiatry supplier to the NHS and offers the widest range of podiatry products in the UK, sourcing the best brands, products and innovation from around the world and distributing to podiatry departments and private practices worldwide.
With a 135 year history behind it, Algeos is a privately owned, family-run business. Chairman Alan Sheridan and commercial director Max Sheridan, Alan's son, will be supporting Jackie in her new role, as will product director Marc Cameron.
The announcement was made by chairman Alan Sheridan, who said: "Jackie Fisher joined the Algeos family a year ago as FD and has demonstrated many qualities that I feel makes her ideal to lead Algeos through the next period of consolidation and growth. I am delighted to announce her appointment."
Jackie Fisher said: "I was attracted to Algeos for its passionate commitment to quality and the value the company places on employees. It is a professional environment with a family spirit. It has a successful history and exciting times ahead, and I look forward to leading the company through those times."
Outgoing CEO Hugh Sheridan has left Algeos to seek opportunities elsewhere. Alan Sheridan said: "I would like to thank Hugh on behalf of the board, our customers and our people for all he has done for the company and to wish him well in his future endeavours."
Algeos will be at the College of Podiatry Conference (CoP), 17-19 November 2016, where the company will be showcasing OptoGait, Ruck, Slimflex and Interpod and is the main sponsor.

About Jackie Fisher
Jackie Fisher, newly appointed CEO of A Algeo Ltd, trained with Ernst & Young in Leeds prior to moving to its Sydney office. Her first financial director role was at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). She says: "LIPA is a well-known organisation because of its connections with Paul McCartney, who - yes - I did get to meet!"
Since then, Jackie has gained much experience in other businesses, including as GFC at a company during its sale and acquisition by a private equity house. Of her time as FD at Thyson Technology, based in the Wirral, she says: "This role required significant change management. I enjoyed my time there and worked closely with the three directors who were the original owners prior to an investment from a private investor consortium."
From Thyson, Jackie joined Algeos as FD in October, 2015, before becoming CEO in October 2016.
