A rigid sole plate insole made from Carbon/Polypropylene layers, similar to our successful XT Sprint range (see later). XT Sole Plates are supplied as full-length insoles in 2.3mm thickness, which are, die cut from an unbreakable and lightweight material.

This product is moulded to a cast and then posted or wedged for functional control. Alternatively, when moulded to a surgical shoe last it can be used to give rigidity to the sole unit. The top surface can be prepared before the linings or postings are attached by buffing.



XT Sole Plates have two specific applications:


1. As a Rigid base for the treatment of forefoot amputees.

The XT Sole Plate is used as a rigid base In the shoe and gives control of the foot for a patient with a partial forefoot amputation. The Sole Plate is moulded to shape if necessary, then a toe filler, such as EVA foam is attached using adhesive. The filler is then ground to the required shape. The insole can be fixed in one shoe or made as a removable insole.


2. As a Rigid Base For Diabetic Patients

The XT Sole Plate acts as a rigid base in the shoe and prevents the sole bending thereby causing friction to the metatarsal joints of the foot. The Sole plate is moulded to shape and if necessary posted for control. An appropriate lining can be added.

XT is mouldable at 180-200 deg. C.
