The
Starflex orthotic blank range
The Starflex orthotic blank is a polyester resin, reinforced
with glass fibre threads. Its great advantage lies in its varying thickness,
which gives it strength, flexibility and lightness. This results in
a very high rate of patient tolerance and satisfaction.
Starflex becomes pliable after immersion in boiling water. Our carefully
designed "STAR-CAST" casting system means the Starflex can be moulded
directly to the foot.
Starflex will make the basis of a very strong yet thin and lightweight
foot orthotic.

Starflex product features
-
Available pre-cut to size and moulded to approximate
shape, thus saving time and avoiding wastage when using sheets.
-
Unbreakable, made from Fibre Glass Reinforced
Resin which has been toxicologically tested and conforms even to the
food industry requirements.
-
Differing thickness gives greatest support exactly
where it is needed. The longitudinal arch is only 3.1 - 3.5mm thick
and the (flexible) heel about 1.0mm.
-
When heated to 100 Degrees for 15 Seconds in an
oven or in boiling water, they can be moulded easily to suit. (Do
NOT heat over 150 Deg.)
A heat gun can also be used for 20-40 seconds. If discolouration occurs
this will not affect the performance.
-
Grinding and cutting is simple using an emery
paper of Grit Size 60.
-
A 'posting' can be applied simply using any adhesive.
Suitable as the Base for a full insole, by using a
