Practitioners who find that an important part of treatment derives from trial and error through adding, removing and changing postings. These cost-effective flat-based neutral insoles and orthoses permit chairside fittings by providing the option of adding postings to achieve the desired effect.

SLIMLEX INSOLES

Moulded EVA insole with deep heel cup

Basic strengthened green EVA insole that provides increased support.

Perforated under-layer to allow the material to breathe when placed in the shoe.

Contoured EVA insole with strengthened heel

On its own Slimflex PLUS is an ideal solution for feet that require additional control and stability.

Slimflex PLUS features a hard dark blue EVA stabiliser with deep heel cup.

Reinforced longitudinal arch to ensure improved strength and biomechanical support.

Soft, royal blue covering with velvet finish to provide optimum comfort.

Enhanced contouring ensuring greater functional control for active kids.

EVA insole with rigid base for additional stability

EVA insole with rigid nylon base that provides additional functional control.

Rigid base makes it ideal for heavier patients.

Quick dry, moisture absorbing covering material.

Ideally used in conjunction with our Podotech range of wedges to create a more functional orthotic device.

Application guide: Slimflex simple modification

Check the footwear in which the orthotic insole is to placed. Footwear must not be too worn or damaged. Remove any existing linings or arch cushions from the
shoe.
Clinically ascertain the requirements of the patient. Gather together the relevant materials needed to create the adapted insole.
Select a flat-based neutral insole from our range. Our Slimflex® range comes in three different types, each varying in rigidity, heel width, arch support and density. We offer a wide range in moulded insoles, allowing you to choose the insole which best suits the needs of the individual patient.
Based on diagnosis, take a wedge strip or podo wedge of either 3.5 or 5 degrees. Cut the strip to the desired length. Decide where the wedging device is to be inserted onto the insole, and trim with a pair of scissors where necessary.
All of our components and wedges now come with a self-adhesive backing for ease of use. Simply peel off the protective backing and place in the correct position on the insole. Press down firmly to stick the wedge onto the insole.
Once you are happy with the placement of the components, trim off any excess off the insole with a pair of scissors.
Place the insole into the shoe of the patient and ask them to walk around. Check that the orthotic is comfortable. Please note that it can take some time for a patient to adjust to the new insoles, which usually takes only a few days.
Due to the low cost of this range, different insole types and wedging sizes can be used to assess patient tolerance.

Application guide: Slimflex advanced modification

The versatility of the Slimflex range is illustrated here. Algeos’ standard Slimflex product has been transformed from basic insole into durable and attractive functional foot orthotic in less than 30 minutes.

Tools and materials used for the modification: a standard bench grinder and heat gun, medium density EVA and a small piece of imitation pigskin.
