Proper alignment of the foot is widely considered
as being necessary for normal function during gait. Poor alignment
of the foot is associated with symptoms such as metatarsalgia,
arch pain, knee pain, shin-splints, tendon pain, back pain
other postural related symptoms.
Interpod pre-form foot orthotics
have been designed to address these symptoms by supporting the
foot and preventing pronation.
The Interpod range consists
of soft and flexible Orthoses in seven distinct models with
a full range of sizes based on three arch heights.

Low function

Moderate function

High function
Interpod design features:
- Available in three arch heights - eliminates
the need for temporary stick-on's
- Intrinsic rear foot wedging reduces the
need for excessive arch height
- The plantar fascial groove assists the
windlass mechanism and reduces arch irritation
- Interpod orthoses compress or flex which
helps improve patient tolerance
Comfort:
- Interpod orthoses compress or flex which
helps improve patient tolerance.
- Rear-foot wedging reduces the need for
excessive arch height.
- A plantar facial groove on Orthose decreases
arch irritation. The groove creates a path for the plantar
fascia and the tendon of F.H.L.
Fit to shoes:
Different styles of shoe require a specific orthotic shape for
optimal comfort and patient compliance. Four proven Podiatric
designs have been incorporated in the Interpod range to provide
orthotic options for all shoe types (shown above).
Symptom relief:
Clinical experience shows the majority of patients requiring
orthoses respond positively to one of three orthotic heights
reflected in the Interpod orthotic range; LOW, MODERATE and
HIGH. The correct orthotic height is a practical issue of shoe
fit and comfort, combined with the necessity for symptom relief.
Interpod recommends the initial use of the MODERATE height orthotic,
providing shoe fit permits. If symptoms persist and the moderate
height has been comfortable then the use of the
HIGH arch is indicated. The LOW arch is used if the MODERATE
is uncomfortable or when shoe fit is difficult.
