  Alge-Cast last foam system

Back to: Website Index >> Product Range

Algeos' Polyurethane Last Foam is perfectly suited for producing lasts from negative casts. It is easy to work with and once it has hardened it can be sawn, nailed, tacked and polished.

ALGE-CAST is a two-part system which is mixed together before pouring into the mould. The best ambient temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius.

Directions of use

1. Take a clean, dry and heat resistant but pliable container.

2.
Mix 1 part of Foam to 1.1 parts of Hardener and stir with a wooden spatular for 20 seconds until the colour darkens and clears. Stop stirring. At this point the temperature rises.

3.

Pour into the mould and the solution will expand and set in the mould. (The setting time is about 140 seconds) Expansion is equal to 1.7 times.

It is useful to spray a silicone based release agent into the mould first!

Important:

Always wear protective gloves and masks. Skin contact is to be avoided and the foam must not be inhaled.
