Alan and Clive sign the deal

Algeos has aquired the Nova Instruments company of Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire.

Nova Instruments has traditionally been a supplier of podiatry instruments and sundry items to the UK with a particular focus on catering to the podiatric surgery sector. The company was founded 25 years ago by Clive Over – a graduate of the London Foot Hospital. He built strong relationships with German instrument manufacturers to develop an extensive range of products to satisfy all the requirements of a busy surgery.

Algeos (A. Algeo Ltd) are the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of materials and components for use by the orthopaedic, podiatry and shoe making industries. The acquisition of Nova Instruments will provide Algeos with the opportunity to expand the podiatry range and therefore offer more of a complete collection of products for podiatry customers.

The Chairman of Algeos, Alan Sheridan, is excited about the new opportunities the take over will have for the company:

“Clive has decided to retire from active business life and I am delighted that we are in the position to take over a company which has built up a fine reputation for reliability and quality of service over the past 25 years. The acquisition of the company provides us with the opportunity to take over the distributorship of many quality instruments in addition to extending our existing range particularly into export markets.”

Clive will continue to make his expertise available to Algeos for a period of time which is important in ensuring a smooth transfer of business. Clive’s son will continue to maintain the practice formerly run by his father in Goff’s Oak and the www.complete-feet.co.uk website which was set up by Clive’s daughter will continue to distribute Nova instruments.
