Algeos forecasts strong growth after successful 2016
Medical products specialist Algeos says the company is set for further growth next year after a successful 2016.
The business achieved a turnover of £11.2million and profit before tax of £400,000 during the last 12 months.
Algeos, which has its head office in Liverpool, is predicting turnover will grow to at least £11.8million during 2017.
This year’s success was partly due to the company being awarded the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Rehabilitation tender in the Middle East for the fifth consecutive time.
Jackie Fisher, Algeos’s CEO, said: “We were delighted to win the GCC tender again and with a value of £1.7million it was the largest contract secured in Algeos’s history.
“We will be looking for further growth during the coming year through continuing strong performance in expanding markets, by introducing new products and entering into a number of new strategic partnerships.
“We start 2017 with an increased sales force covering all of Europe and a dedicated team focused on finding the most innovative products which ensure we deliver solutions which not only improve motion but also the mind.
“We are not only committed to discovering the most innovative products in podiatry, physiotherapy and orthotics and prosthetics but also enabling our customers to have access to industry-leading education and training.”
Among the company’s new initiatives is donating over £25,000 of Slimflex insoles and orthotics to the UK’s 13 podiatry colleges.
Jackie added: “Algeos is passionate about providing patients with high quality products while also investing in the continuing professional development of the professionals on the frontline.”
Jackie took over as CEO three months ago from her previous position as Finance Director with Max Sheridan becoming Commercial Director and Marc Cameron being appointed to the newly created role of Product Director.
The company employs 85 people and has further offices in the Middle East and Australia.
