Multicast Thermoplastics
Multicast Standard - Foam Coated Surface
Multicast Standard is a low temperature thermoplastic material bonded with a 0.6mm 'furry' foam layer. The characteristic advantage of the foam coating is that the thermoplastic does not stick to itself in hot water, thus
sizable surfaces can be put in a small hot water container and the material is easier to work with.
The foam coating also creates a minute layer of air between the patient's skin and the thermoplastic, reducing
the possibility of skin chafing. Due to Multicast Standards exceptional anatomical properties, when heated the material follows the exact contours of the treated surface.
The material can be heated in the following ways:
- Water (from 70°C)
- Steam (from 90°C)
- Dry Heat (from 150°C)
- Heat Gun
- Heating Plate
The material can be moulded after 2 minutes of heating at 70°C or 1 minute heating at 75°C.
Multicast Ortho - Smooth Surface
Multicast Ortho is a low-temperature thermoplastic with enhanced processing characterisitics such as transparency and maximum drape.
Characteristics of multicast Ortho:
- Turns clear when heated
- Maximum drape
- Possibility of vertical (anti gravity) positioning
- Bonds without need for solvents
- Resists fingerprints and other pressure marks
The material can be heated using the same methods as the Multicast Standard.
The material can be moulded after 2 minutes of heating at 60°C or 1 minute heating at 65°C.
Multicast Rigid - Smooth Surface
Multicast Rigid is a strong low-temperature thermoplastic material that follows the exact contours of the treated
surface. After processing it transforms into a hard splint. It does not need reinforcing, it is rigid, light-weight and does not shrink. Due to its heavy plastic memory, the material can be reheated and remoulded.
Charateristics of Multicast Rigid:
- Extra rigidity
- Extra strength
- Possibility of vertical (anti gravity) positioning
- Recommended for orthoses with large surface
The material can be heated using the same methods as the Multicast Standard.
The material can be moulded after 2 minutes of heating at 60°C or 1 minute heating at 65°C.
Multicast Precuts
Multicast Precuts are cut to size and ready to be applied to the body, saving you time and money. Available in a variety of sizes and styles, Precuts reduce fabrication costs with no need for tracing, designing and cutting.
